Synopsis
After her husband's death, noble widow Margaret is framed by her uncle and loses her inheritance, fleeing to a border town with her two-year-old daughter Lily. Lily unexpectedly gains the ability to hear others' thoughts and repeatedly exposes conspiracies, drawing the attention of King Sebastian, who is traveling incognito. He helps mother and daughter fight court intrigues; Lily's mind-reading leaves villains nowhere to hide and warms the lonely king's heart. The two fall in love across class divides, reclaim their territory, and find happiness.
